Job Description

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Senior Manager of Data Automation will be responsible for leading a team of skilled professionals in designing, developing, and implementing data automation solutions to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency across the organization. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities, driving innovation in data automation practices, and ensuring the successful execution of automation projects. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and mentor a team of data automation engineers and specialists to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements and objectives.
  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for data automation initiatives, aligning with business priorities and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Design and architect scalable and efficient data automation solutions using industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of automation workflows, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
  • Establish and maintain governance processes, standards, and controls to ensure the reliability, integrity, and security of automated data processes.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data automation solutions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements as needed.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and contractors to assess capabilities, evaluate solutions, and leverage external expertise as needed for data automation projects.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure alignment with project requirements, timelines, and deliverables, providing guidance and support throughout the engagement.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in data automation technologies and trends and assess their potential impact on the organization's data strategy.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the status of data automation projects, key performance metrics, and ROI

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering, data automation, or related roles, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading data automation projects from conception to implementation, delivering measurable business value.
  • Strong technical expertise in data integration, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data warehousing, and automation tools/platforms (e.g., Python, RPA, SQL, AWS etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
