Overview

The MicroStrategy Solutions Analyst will join a team of developers responsible for the firm’s enterprise data warehouse, management reporting, and business intelligence solutions. Key initiatives include the design and implementation of dashboards using dossier and documents, delivery of self-service dashboards and report development and other MicroStrategy related products. The MicroStrategy Solutions Analyst will communicate and engage with business sponsors to develop a strong understanding of their data and reporting needs. He/she will define and document requirements, produce mockups and solution wireframes, and provide training and first-level support for our end-users.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs and convert the spec into business requirements.
  • Conduct analysis to define scope and/or solve key business problems using data.
  • Support product vision and business intelligence use and adoption.
  • Work with other technology teams to migrate MicroStrategy solutions to higher environments.
  • Support MicroStrategy applications in Production by providing Level 3 support, which includes provisioning and implementation of fixes to production defects and making light enhancements.
  • Evaluate incidents/defects, investigate, identify root cause, and come up with solutions to address the same.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Work with internal resources during development phases to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer.
  • Create Visually Compelling and interactive Dossiers and Documents.
  • Monitor ongoing development efforts and provide regular progress reporting of current activities to IT and business teams.
  • Knowledge on new features of the product and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with various MSTR tools (office plugin, dossiers, hyper, workstation, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance or a related field.
  • MicroStrategy certified report developer and analyst preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with report/dashboard design and development experience using MicroStrategy Version 10 and higher, hands-on experience capturing requirements from the business, creating training documents and providing hands on training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and Sr. management on both the business and IT sides.
  • Good conceptual knowledge and working experience with MicroStrategy dossier building, creating report specifications, integration test planning & testing, unit test planning & testing, UAT & implementation support.
  • Sound understanding of Business Intelligence best practices, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse and reporting techniques.

Hands on calculations, filters, variables, parameters, conditions, sorting, drill down, aggregates, hierarchies, and charts for MicroStrategy Reports.

The anticipated pay range for this role is Boston: $78,000 - $116,000, NY: $82,000 - $122,000 which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity. 

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
