OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

The Social Media and Online Community Manager will play a pivotal role in the growth of Easterseals Southern California's organic online presence, including the elevation of relations with audiences both inside and outside the disability community, via the development and execution of creative, accessible, and effective social media strategies and content; timely, informational, and clever audience engagement across various social media

platforms; Social SEO, and social media partnerships.

Hiring Range: $70k - $90k / yr.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead organic social media strategy and execution for the digital marketing team, including identifying additional opportunities for Southern California audience traffic and engagement growth across all social platforms.
  • Produce a weekly/monthly content schedule that aligns with website, brand campaign, Advancement, and Internal Communication calendars.
  • Collaborate with digital marketing, graphic design, and video content team members to build creative and innovative social media content that implements SEO best practices, for best impact with reach, audience engagement, brand-building, and fundraising; along with making reactive, of-the-moment content where it makes sense for our brand and the platforms’ audiences.
  • Act as Easterseals' voice on social media: providing day-to-day community management of the ongoing conversations on our social channels, and actively engaging with audience on social media platforms after assessing inbound messages and user profiles, building organic community engagement through
  • thoughtful commentary.
  • Optimize platforms with best-practice applications, I.E., handles, tagging, hashtags, etc.
  • Develop strategies for creative content for live streams and videos.
  • Work with influencers and other partners to increase audience reach and engagement.
  • Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify valuable opportunities for organic traffic growth.
  • Optimize content for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and drive organic traffic to our online properties.
  • Work toward continuous growth and improvement by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information. Prepare monthly data analysis reports on platform, content and audience engagement.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a content creator, community manager, or content specialist.
  • Social media management (creative content creation across ALL social media platforms, posting, replying to messages and comments).
  • Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Proven experience with SEO and In-depth knowledge of search engine optimization techniques and best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • A well-spoken professional with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form, a keen eye for detail, plus the judgement and savvy to engage thoughtfully with diverse audiences, including individuals with disabilites and without disabilities.
  • Expert knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat, X, Threads) and all features including Instagram stories, DMs, etc).
  • Working knowledge of social media accessibility best practices.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, social media management tools, and email marketing platforms.
  • Understanding of SEO principles, best practices, knowledge, and experience implementing.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative mindset and a passion for storytelling.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Up-to-date with industry trends and algorithm updates to continuously improve SEO strategies.
