Purpose of the Role

The Lead, Inventory Management will be required to manage the day-to-day inventory activities related to all products and material used in the global operation, including the international market. Additionally, they will maximize inventory availability via our website and communicate with Field/Sales Team for commercial messaging. They will also partner closely with the DC on builds, promotions, and launches to align on timing and project efficiency.

In this role they well be required to manage all facets of inventory, from on-hand/on-order levels, turn/fill rate tracking, procurement/buying, scrap management, and website product availability. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for management of the end-to-end global procurement process.
  • Responsible for the website in stock tracking and daily availability updates.
  • Analyze, resolve or escalate inventory issues.
  • Responsible to manage fill rate of product through supplier collaborations, logistic partnerships, and effective communications with suppliers.
  • Responsible to manage the balance between supply availability, inventory investment and risk of obsolescence, as well as outlet management.
  • Track and report on key KPI’s and provide recommendations to maintain or improve, especially as related to fill rate and turn goals – two core measurements of success.
  • Responsible for tracking/management/scrap prevention of consumable items.
  • Partner closely with Field/Sales on inventory availability, future drop items, and item discrepancies.
  • Partner closely with DC on builds, promotions, and launches to ensure efficiency and project management success.
  • Identify system issues and lead in the improvement or development of those systems.

  • Reduce backorders and stop sells
  • Maintain targeted inventory levels
  • Minimize expedited freight cost
  • Accuracy and maintenance of open orders
  • Minimize noise in Field Communications regarding inventory
  • Project build efficiency with Distribution Center team

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP/Pivot Tables/Macros)
  • Proficiency in Oracle a plus
  • Experience in process improvement and continuous improvement projects.
