Research Program Administration Officer II, TReO (Part Time)(College of Medicine-Phoenix)

  • Coordinate and perform day-to-day operational and administrative activities in support of the Center for Biotech Research Development and Entrepreneurialism (BROE).
  • Support Project primary investigator (PI) in development of strategic plan with input from key members of the community.
  • Support Pl in coordinating a steering committee and regular meetings to push strategic plan forward.
  • Administer and manage a college student summer intern program, including doing advertisements, working with applications, selection of students and mentors, aiding with laboratory credentials, and final presentations and associated communications.
  • Serve as a contact for internal and/or external stakeholders to coordinate activities, exchange information, deliver reports, etc.
  • Establish a learning community for faculty and students leveraging the College of Medicine-Phoenix location on the Phoenix Biomedical campus, and proximity to high-quality clinical partners, bioscience-based businesses, and a growing body of young bioscience companies and entrepreneurs.
  • Support individual faculty with mentoring as they increase their capacity to bring fresh solutions to solve compelling clinical and health challenges for the benefit of patients.
  • Foster creation and support of an accelerator resource group at the College of Medicine-Phoenix (Tech Launch Arizona, businesses, human resources, legal, regulatory, marketing, etc.).
  • Develop and monitor project plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and budgets in collaboration with project Pl and other units involved (Translational Research Office, Finance, UAHS, SPS).
  • Purchase and pay bills for Finance and Business Administration team.
  • Maintain finance filing systems as required to meet sponsor reporting.
  • Approve and/or authorize expenditures or actions for administrative and operational needs.
  • Draft program sponsor reports and other technical reports as required by award terms & conditions.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information to audiences of varying understanding.
  • Ability to work proactively and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strength with analytical tasks.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of policies and requirements of various funding agencies (e.g. NIH, USDA).
