Job Description - Assistant Manager/Manager – Data Analytics

In this role, you will report to the Director, GRC, and play a key role in the day-to-day execution of data analytics and automation activities. You will have an opportunity to learn about Information Technology, Business Operations, Application, Data Analytics and key insurance businesses.

Through compliance GRC work, you will have the opportunity to develop competencies around influencing various levels of management, project management, building client relationships across the organization, learning about new technologies and data analytics tools.

What will you do?

  • Work with the Sr. Manager, and the Director – GRC on planning, executing and documenting GRC analytics work.
  • Review the documented business understanding, business objectives /performance/metrics, key controls, and test strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to automate testing using toolsets deployed internally and analytical tools or through the assessment of other monitoring/analytic tools available within the company.
  • Complete work papers accurately, completely, and as instructed following GRC standards.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous data analytics/ Automation projects within assigned time and budget and ensure there is adequate escalation of project delays / issues to the Director.
  • Executes standard data analytics engagements, ensuring proper coverage and consideration of various principles and practices.
  • Continually assess and provide ideas on Data analytics practices and closely work with other Professional Practices group to suggest and implement best practices.
  • Support and manage analytics infrastructure within GRC, including but not limited to, access provisioning/de-provisioning, license management, upgrade testing, analytics tool administration within GRC.
  • Analyze compliance testing results through data analytics and conclude on the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.

What do you need to succeed?

  • College or university degree preferably in analytics or related areas
  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of compliance or audit analytics experience (preferable from Financial Services industry)
  • Proven skills and experience in developing packages in Tableau, and workflows using Tableau Prep Builder.
  • Proven skills and experience in building automation solutions using VBA/Power Automate
  • Proficient in SQL with strong skills in data querying, manipulation, and database management
  • Preferable to have AWS Analytics development experience, Python, Pega etc.
  • Certifications in Tableau Desktop Specialist, ACDA, Arbutus etc. are preferable.
  • Preferable to have knowledge of tables/T-codes (data models) storing data/information and internal controls for standard modules in SAP HANA ERP
  • Good to have knowledge of control frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT, etc.)
  • Good to have knowledge of audit techniques, including planning, scoping, project management, evaluation and testing of internal controls

  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Pro-active, dedicated, flexible, demonstrating good practical judgement and taking initiative
  • Team player, ability to multi-task, detail oriented, strong commitment to quality, analytical, strong problem solving and consultative skills
