Job Description

Located in our Ulm facility, we have a fantastic opportunity to work in collaboration with our partner on cutting-edge technology driving innovation in the automotive market.

As a software engineer, you will define the language framework software package in collaboration with customers, research teams and product development. You will define and develop the interfaces of software packages to HU telematics systems. This includes data processing for various use cases, implementing customer-specific interfaces to different speech-controlled components such as navigation, phone, or media. You will implement a high-level, customer-specific speech user interface, including dialogs; optimize configuration and setup for latency, memory, and CPU consumption.

Responsibilities

  • Implement high level, customer specific speech dialog interface
  • Analyze and implement proprietary interfaces to the different speech-controlled applications including cloud-based components.
  • Work together with framework team on requirements and optimal configuration for specific customer projects
  • Develop Unit Tests on development environment and on the actual infotainment system
  • Review and investigate issues in code developed by peers
  • Perform latency, memory and CPU measurements on target platform and work together with development and R&D on improvement
  • Partner closely with customers and internal Cerence teams
  • Contribute to advancing technologies and services by providing input and recommendations from project experiences
  • Be up to date on technology development and challenge yourself to deliver best-in class solutions to our customers

Who are you

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or comparable
  • Relevant work experience on •software development/programming/Software-design, ideally on embedded OS or Android
  • Programming languages like C/C++, Java
  • Experience with Python
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Positive "can-do" attitude, well organized, communicative and success oriented.
  • Willingness to travel for short trips.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with speech recognition or related technologies is an advantage
  • Experiences in automotive infotainment area
  • Experiences in agile methods like SCRUM
