Arris Composites is seeking an Advanced Materials Production Engineer with an operations and process skill set. When issues arise, you're driven to figure out root causes with the team and quickly identify potential solutions. When things are running smooth in production, you are still looking for areas of opportunity to improve the overall process flow (faster speeds, better quality, consistent results, lights out operation). You're deeply committed to quality and efficiency and have a desire to streamline technical workflows. You are an organized individual, with the capacity to order and maintain an inventory of raw materials, schedule production runs, and maintain and supply an inventory of finished materials. You can understand a production process and making decisions to maintain, optimize, and streamline production. Your operations knowledge and organizational skills will inform the efficient production of advanced composite materials to meet supply chain needs. You should be a team player with a great attitude, a desire to constantly learn and improve, and welcome constructive criticism and direction.

Responsibilities

  • Drive mechanical and electrical continuous improvement projects.
  • Create 2D and 3D drawings for machine components/tools.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory for raw and finished materials.
  • Maintain supplies necessary for materials handling and production.
  • Schedule machine maintenance and calibration work.
  • Setup efficient operations and SOPs to start/stop/repair manufacturing line
  • Maintain, monitor, improve production capability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment problems.
  • Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BS in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or operations.
  • A background in manufacturing engineering, machine design, or similar field.
  • Organized.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • You have vision and can respectfully disagree when you see things differently than others. But you also can recognize when your concept isn't the one that we're moving forward with, and you can get 100 percent behind the new direction.
  • Great references.
  • Experience following and creating work instructions.
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Excellent (English and Mandarin) communication skills including proficiency with computer programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
