Senior Compliance Specialist (Amsterdam)

Fusion Worldwide is hiring a Senior Compliance Specialist who will support the development, implementation, execution and control of the EU regional compliance programs. The main focus will be export compliance however the roles covers broader compliance. This individual would report directly to the Director of Global Compliance in Singapore, and locally to the logistics and operations team in Amsterdam. They work with Export Compliance designees who are currently handling case due diligence in Amsterdam. This position is essential to Fusion Worldwide’s growth as our business continues to expand globally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with Global Compliance. execute the regional export compliance operation, including export case due diligence, denied parties screening, licensing determination, submitting license application, proper product classification and proper documentation.
  • Understand and have experience with the Taric System, ECCN codes, Dual Use classification, licensing requirements and licensing applications.
  • Interface daily with administration and the Sales organization to ensure smooth communication and order flow.
  • Work with parts manufacturers and distributors to maintain proper classification.
  • Work with development to build export compliance controls into our CRM.
  • Working with the global team, conduct training on export, import, and customs compliance matters including the annual compliance training; attend offsite training courses leading to export and other compliance certifications.
  • Stay updated on changes to compliance laws and regulations, work with the global team to ensure changes are communicated to management and ensure the compliance program takes into account changes.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient export compliance operation that strives to achieve 0 violations and 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the Compliance SME during external or internal audits
  • Areas for growth include regional compliance management.
  • Able to understand different requirements of EU licenses and local licenses in Netherland for dual use product
  • Advise license application strategy base on business cases.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5+ years' EU export compliance experience; import and customs compliance desired
  • Electronic components industry experience highly preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Communication and the ability to function effectively as part of a global team
  • Overall planning and organizing competency
  • A deep attention to detail and dedication to accuracy and precision
  • Past experience in EU licenses or NL license applications for dual use items
  • Able to converse well in local languages – Dutch (native speaker level)
