Cashmere’s core values are:
We are looking for seasoned Strategists to join us on a contract basis, to be a well-rounded facilitator of strategic excellence, and collaboration– for our key brands, in the daily.
You’d be joining a strategy discipline at Cashmere that is uniquely rooted in a culture-first approach -- built to forge more authentic connections for brands and ultimately unlock ‘undeniably dope’ creative solutions that the culture engages with and even adopts as their own. Our process goes beyond traditional demographics and psychographics, viewing audiences through a CultureGraphic lens, seeking out fresh cultural spaces where our clients’ brands can credibly live & lead in the culture surrounding your audience.
As Strategy Director, you are a deft consensus builder, and a stabilizing force who is capable of collaborating across departments, including Creative, Social, PR, Influencer, and Experiential -- working together to help build a cohesive integrated marketing plan. You’re recognized as the expert on the brand, business, consumer, and culture. You push to make the work better, and braver - all under tight timelines. You may be delegating tasks to other strategists or hands-on owning deliverables yourself, likely a little of both.
You excel at the frontlines of pitch narrative development and shaping platform ideas with our most senior leaders at the agency.
Strong Communicator. A conceptualist capable of developing and applying frameworks that help illuminate a clear path to greater brand truths that our clients can leverage. You have a passion for culture, and a deep understanding of how cultural context relates to the success of a brand, along with an innate ability to translate and connect this to the context of today’s cultural landscape.
Storytelling/Storytelling. Creating a compelling narrative is essential in both inspiring and selling great work. Being a master storyteller is essential as you develop creative briefs and lead briefing meetings in an inspirational manner with little to no oversight. You orchestrate your ideas at speed and can thrive in ambiguity, bringing answers and cohesion to unexpected – or even unprecedented – situations with brands and clients. You will be expected to not only find the right data but also find the story in the data points. You want to get clients excited about brilliant ideas and say YES.
Brief Writing. From interpreting a client brief to identifying unexpected human and cultural truths, brief writing is an essential skill, and the best way to learn is by doing. You’ll be expected to proactively lead early on in the development process— pulling and/or conducting primary and secondary research, mining data, utilizing third-party tools as required, and shaping clear and compelling brief narratives.
Category/Culture/Consumer Expertise. As a Strategist, you are focused on learning the ins and outs of your client’s business, the category, and the consumer and have a relentless curiosity about various facets of culture. This means diving into and synthesizing a wide range of resources such as first-party data, audience profiling, trend reports, social listening, and primary research.
Uncovering Insights Staying abreast of trends, shifts in consumer behavior, and emerging competitive challenges to the landscape will demonstrate the depth and breadth of your knowledge. You will be expected to contribute to the development of briefs for clients, applying these insights to our work in ways that reinforce the Cashmere Agency philosophy.
Radical Empathy. You can channel and represent the needs of people, audiences, and customers with openness, anti-bias, and (un)conscious inclusion in the everyday strategy development
