The Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of South Dakota invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP). This position is a nine month, full-time, term position that may be renewed based on performance and /or needs of the department.

Start date: August 2024 (Fall 2024).

Duties and responsibilities:

The University of South Dakota is seeking candidates for a 1-year appointment as a visiting assistant professor of chemistry. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Chemistry and a passion for teaching and inspiring students. Responsibilities include teaching in-person courses in physical chemistry and first-year chemistry, using electronic learning management systems, conducting hands-on lab sessions, and providing individual support to students as needed.
