We are seeking a Sr. Payroll Analyst at our Stamford, Connecticut location. The ideal candidate will have at least ten (10) years experience in a similar role. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or relevant field or equivalent work experience will be considered.

Job Summary

The Sr. Payroll Analyst is responsible for processing biweekly and weekly payrolls and managing daily operations to ensure that accurate and timely payrolls are processed for all employees in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. This position will also provide assistance to internal and external customers, and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws. Candidate will cross train with other members of Human Resources and Payroll department.

Sr. Payroll Analyst Responsibilities & Daily Duties:

  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll information through review, audit, and analysis of employee time sheets, payroll records and reports.
  • Ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Researches and resolves payroll questions/problems and communicates policies, procedures to all affected employees.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll-related regulations regarding wage garnishments, taxes and other deductions.
  • Monitor ADP Smart Compliance for agency notices and payroll processing completion and respond timely to inquiries related to Federal, State and/or local regulatory payroll/tax inquiries.
  • Liaise with and support field HR and/or managers on all payroll and timekeeping matters to ensure payroll is accurate and runs smoothly.
  • Participate and assist with special projects and HR initiatives as needed. Support with IRS, State or local audits as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned/required.

Sr. Payroll Analyst Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Environment is typically general office.
  • This is a hybrid position and generally requires a minimum of three (3) days in the office.

Requirements

  • The minimum education required is a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • At least ten (10) years of payroll experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Experience using ADP Enterprise Version 5 or 6 and ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Strong Payroll Tax background required preferably utilizing ADP Tax.
  • Knowledge and experience working with ADP Workforce Manager preferred.
  • Knowledge of Family Medical Leave Payroll Requirements.
  • Requires strong organizational, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet payroll deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in sensitive matters.
