From traditional marketing communications to industry trade shows to social media posts, the Marketing Strategist plays a vital role in helping Franklin Electric and our family of brands develop and deliver a cohesive and meaningful message to all of our customers and stakeholders wherever they may be. In this mid-level marketing role, you’ll work closely with our Creative Solutions and Digital Marketing teams to analyze our unique market segments and customers and translate this knowledge into actionable communications across a variety of media and social channels. Under the direction of the Manager, Marketing Communications and Strategy, you’ll ensure our marketing strategy translates seamlessly across mediums. You’ll also provide the essential link to gather input from experts across our company – collaborating frequently with our product development, customer support and sales teams to further develop, manage and evaluate the effectiveness of our strategy and our overall communication efforts. 

Key Responsibilities

Evaluates marketing campaign performance calculates a marketing effort’s overall return on investment and uses this knowledge to make recommendations for the future. 

Owns the strategy and plan for segment-specific customer experiences, including managing relevant campaigns and related marketing efforts. 

Leads projects across various internal departments ensures development of consistent and accurate messaging to meet promotional and customer needs. 

Develops and implements innovative and strategic measures for the development of new product materials and marketing promotions. 

Drives critical trade show activities, including pre-show preparation, booth staff selection and scheduling, attendee invitations, lead management, and post-show reporting. 

Works collaboratively with peer business teams as needed to obtain customer buying tendencies, wants, and needs; applies this market research strategically in all marketing efforts. 

Leads initiatives to gather input and maintains market research data as necessary related to competitor products, trends, new product adoption, innovative technologies being considered, and new regulations.

Upholds and adheres to company brand strategy helps ensure consistent messaging across all customer experiences. 

Champions and evaluates appropriate and regular use of Voice of Customer exercises. 

Develops and continuously refines customer profiles for each market segment and ensures our marketing strategy appropriately targets these customers. 

Owns other related duties as required or assigned. 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Ability to formulate creative strategy and set direction for all marketing channels.

Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrates experience and knowledge in best practices in product marketing as related to each specific marketing channel.

Demonstrates strong project management skills in order to meet multiple deadlines; strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Works independently within a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Ability to travel up to 20% of calendar year attending industry trade shows, customer events, and company meetings.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and computer-based productivity tools required.

CRM experience highly desirable.

Microsoft SharePoint experience highly desirable.
