Overview

The Assistant Director of the DNP Program is both a strategic leader and tactical contributor to the Department of Nursing (DON). Provides internal and external leadership for the DNP Program that advances Touro University’s mission, vision, and values. Working closely with the Chairperson of the DON, the Assistant Director of the DNP Program develops goals and metrics, and collaborates with internal and external strategic partners integral to achieving outcomes. Leads the DNP program, faculty team, student engagement, and delivery of high-quality precision education. Develops internal and external metrics and feedback systems for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Duties include assisting the Chairperson of Nursing in duties related to academics and curriculum including but not limited to:

  • Assist in ensuring academic compliance with CCNE standards and NYSED requirements
  • Assist in preparation of CCNE accreditation report and self-study
  • Oversee development and ongoing revision of curriculum including program learning outcomes, course learning objectives, and assisting faculty in developing related learning activities, assignments, and examinations.
  • Maintain student advisory group and report on focus groups related to curriculum
  • Active member of the School of Health Sciences Curriculum Committee.
  • Assist in orientation of new DNP faculty to the policies and procedures related to the Nursing curriculum and CCNE requirements.
  • Ensures achievement of credentialing and accreditation standards
  • Oversee the Nursing DNP Curriculum Committee
  • Oversee DNP Curriculum modifications including approving changes to syllabi
  • Maintain syllabi in accordance with current academic policies
  • Advances DNP project, clinical partnerships, and IPE initiatives
  • Update course descriptions, course numbers, course credits, etc. in Touro University Bulletin, Nursing Student Handbook, and Nursing website
  • Assist with new program curriculum development within the Nursing Department
  • Develop policies and procedures related to the DNP Nursing academics and DNP curriculum
  • Compile and report on data and program evaluation related to DNP academics and DNP curriculum
  • Contribute information related to academics and curriculum to Chairperson of Nursing’s preparation of regular reports regarding the nursing department’s operations accreditation registration and performance effectiveness for distribution to the Department/ programs State and National accrediting bodies School and Touro College administration as requested.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum mapping to ensure compliance with CCNE standards, program learning outcomes, and course learning objectives.
  • Communicate approved changes in curriculum with nursing faculty

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) required.
  • Unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse license.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required
  • Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, Adobe, & Connect preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook preferred
  • Effectively manage and organize daily tasks, independently and with a team, while balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines required
  • Overall business acumen, ethical decision making, and relationship management skill required
  • A high degree of interpersonal competency: professionalism, diplomacy, judgement, and discretion required
  • Documented expertise in the area(s) of teaching and leadership. Responsibility and knowledge of the content delivery method.

Maximum Salary

USD $120,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $96,000.00/Yr.
