Your Team 

As a Director, Tech Lead for the Global End User Experience team operating from within the CTO, you will establish a strategic technical roadmap to improve employee experience and velocity. You will lead a team of engineers, while contributing hands-on to embed AI in the workforce, eliminate friction, and develop features that contribute to greater employee experience. You will partner with key groups such as the End User Experience Research team, as well as product owners and tech leads across businesses to identify key gaps and define the technical vision and delivery roadmap. You will operate a team with a focus on continuous improvement and seeking to reduce undifferentiated heavy lifting. 

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day 

  • Partner with your product owner to define the product, technical strategy and delivery roadmap. 
  • Provide technical expertise as it relates to workforce AI, automation, application development, and highly efficient processes. 
  • Digest input from multiple data sources (end user survey data, helpdesk data, etc.), and analyze to identify key gaps in the experience. 
  • Identify opportunities for simplification in the toolset exposed to end users, streamlining the number of interfaces and improving the value of the strategic interfaces. 
  • Partner with the the team to establish technical designs and delivery plans to execute on key gaps. 
  • Build highly scalable solutions to support all Prudential employees globally (50,000+) 
  • Lead with an application development mindset, promoting frequent small changes. 
  • Establish a communication strategy and engage end-users through a continuous feedback loop. 

The Skills & Expertise You Bring 

  • Deep Application Development, Engineering, Analytics, or similar experience 
  • Strong technical experience in: 
  • Development, Automation, Infrastructure as Code 
  • Python or similar coding experience 
  • Terraform/Cloudformation or similar experience 
  • AI workforce knowledge (e.g. LLM, DeepLearning, copilot or similar products) 
  • Knowledge of Information Security (Authn, Authz, basic network flows) 
  • API and Event Driven Design 
  • Modular and Reusable Code 
  • Agile methodology 
  • Desire to continuously ask questions, question the status quo, work through ambiguity and continuously improve. 
  • Lead and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.  
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills; enjoy learning new skills.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Expertise with several of the following:  
  • Effective Communication: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. 
  • Decision-Making & Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. 
  • Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. 
  • Financial/Business Acumen: Strong Knowledge of financial and/or business concepts, tools and processes and how financial metrics are used to monitor and drive outcomes. Includes understanding of company accounts/metrics (ex: balance sheet, profit/loss, cash flow, budget & forecast). 
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. 
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of concept and principles of agile methodology; ability to apply appropriate agile approaches in the processes of software development and delivery.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $173,500.00 to $234,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
