We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research & Development Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of research and development processes, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from conception to completion. This individual will play a crucial role in driving innovation, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring the successful execution of research and development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Strategy:**
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and strategies for research and development initiatives that align with the company business plan
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project goals, objectives, and key deliverables.
  • Resource Management:**
  • Assist in allocating resources effectively to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Identify and address potential resource constraints or bottlenecks.
  • Risk Management:**
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Proactively address issues as they arise, working closely with team members to find solutions.
  • Communication:**
  • Facilitate effective communication within the project team and with key stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, milestones achieved, and challenges faced.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:**
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the R&D team.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to drive innovation within the Project Management realm.
  • Collaboration with External Partners:**
  • Collaborate with external customers, including vendors, academic institutions, and research organizations, to leverage expertise and resources.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field; advanced degree (Master’s) and/or PMP certification preferred.

2. Proven experience (3+ years) in project management, preferably in an R&D or innovation setting.

3. Strong understanding of product development life cycle, research & development processes (preferred from Plastic Industries), and project management methodologies.

4. Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

6. Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
