Technical Instructor/Trainer

As ABB University Technical Instructor, you will be based in the Cleveland training facility and deliver structured in-center training classes, on site classes at customer facilities and blended learning classes using an internet meeting combined with virtual machines for lab exercises. You will need to be able to develop new courseware and maintain established courseware, as new products are released or updated to keep our delivery portfolio current.

Your responsibilities

  • Prepare classroom equipment & computers prior to assigned classes and ensure courseware is available for student distribution
  • Provide technical support assistance
  • Provide class preparation for other teaching resources and field service support when classes are not in their schedule
  • Integrate ABB’s standards of quality, safety and integrity into daily customer and co worker interaction

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology and basic electrical background/knowledge and minimum 5 years of power plant or process control configuration experience is required, or an Associate degree in Engineering or Technology and 7 years of related military/work experience required or High School Diploma and 9 years of related military/work experience required
  • Harmony/Symphony Plus experience is a plus
  • Comfortable with public speaking and a passion to help customers during class time and after class to ensure they receive adequate training to support their ABB system
  • Travel may be required up to 20 percent
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
