In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $98,000. This pay range represents base pay only (for 9 months OR for 12 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

The New York University Division of Libraries is seeking a Librarian for Latin American, Caribbean, and Spanish & Portuguese Studies. This position is a key member of our liaison librarian corps, and works intensively with NYU faculty and students across the University who are engaged in scholarship in these areas. This tenure-track faculty position supports teaching and learning, research, and scholarship in these areas by fostering relationships and building strong outreach, engagement, instruction, and consultation programs and partnerships; contributing to the development of distinctive, interdisciplinary, multi-lingual, multi-format, and intersectional collections that serve the wide-ranging needs of NYU faculty, students, scholars, and researchers; and building on existing public and research services to facilitate scholarly inquiry, including emerging methods of scholarship.

This position has a particular emphasis on joining a community of scholars who work within the Americas and Caribbean diaspora whose research and teaching draw on Indigenous, Latin American, and Caribbean epistemologies, ontologies and pedagogies. This position is part of our Transformative Humanities for All: Building and Sharing the Cultural Record cluster, which seeks to build knowledge that centers diverse and underrepresented voices in the humanities, make accessible humanistic, and contribute to the Libraries’ work in the emerging field of Public Humanities.
