Who we are looking for

State Street Global Advisors is looking for a highly motivated ETF sales specialist to develop relationships with our largest asset manager and hedge fund clients in the New York City territory. 

As a member of our Institutional Sales team, you will be responsible for representing the best of the SPDR brand and acting as a subject matter expert to our growing asset manager and hedge fund client base. Your responsibilities will include direct coverage and development of asset manager and hedge fund relationships with a focus on increasing market share and revenue. 

To be successful, you will need to develop a deep understanding of our products, our clients and our firm. You will need to effectively collaborate with the Fixed Income Group, our extended Sales teams, Capital Markets Group, Marketing, Research and Product teams. You will actively prospect future ETF clients as well as leverage existing relationships.

This role is part our Institutional Sales team, reporting directly to the Head of Asset Manager and Hedge Fund Sales. 

Due to the role requirements this job needs to be performed primarily in the office with some flex work opportunities available.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct sales coverage of existing clients, while leveraging our extensive Institutional franchise to grow our client base.
  • Manage key asset manager and hedge fund relationships.
  • Navigate complex investment organizations with multiple centers of influence, each with unique priorities.
  • Serve clients in an advisory capacity by offering solutions and insights relevant to their portfolios and investment style.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell SSGA products (model portfolios, SMAs, mutual funds, cash, etc.) by collaborating with our broader Global Client Coverage Group, Product, Marketing, and Capital Markets to deliver the best of State Street to our clients.
  • Represent the firm in client presentations, industry events and forums.
  • Become an expert in our products, use cases and composition.

What we value

Qualifications / desired skills:

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 Required, MBA or CFA Preferred
  • 3+ years of industry experience, preferably with derivatives, ETF and/or Fixed Income
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Possess a strong understanding of the financial services industry and global capital markets products
  • Deep familiarity of the asset manager and hedge fund Investor base – decision makers, buying behavior and priorities
  • Motivated and energetic individual with a positive attitude
  • Ability to generate creative solutions / analysis
  • Intellectually curious and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task long-term and short-term goals and projects effectively and efficiently
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Strong quantitative aptitude
  • Excel and PowerPoint expertise
  • Travel required 25-40%

Salary Range:

$125,000 - $200,000 Annual
