Regeneron's Viral Production Core (VPC), part of the Preclinical Manufacturing and Process Development (PMPD) group is looking for a Process Development Associate II - Analytics, responsible for analytical support for manufacturing process development functions. In this role you will work as part of a multi-functional team to provide Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) manufacturing processes and products with the aim of providing treatment to unmet medical needs through gene therapy. A Typical Day in the Role of Process Development Associate II Might Look Like:

  • Support viral vector process development and production by designing and performing fast and robust assays for the characterization of AAV.
  • Support routine sample testing for characterizing AAV safety, integrity, strength, purity and quality, get results, and onboard new technologies.
  • Cross-train on and provide support for upstream and downstream process development operations.
  • Develop expertise in theory and practice of manufacturing steps and analytical methods.
  • Documents experiments, results, and findings in electronic laboratory notebook; presents work at group and department meetings.
  • Maintain instruments and fix instrumental/experimental problems.

This position requires a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in either Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Virology, or related field with 0-3+ years of experience. The extent of the candidate’s prior experience will determine the grade of the position. A fundamental understanding of the principles of assay development and experience with optimizing existing methods for bioprocess characterization is highly preferred. Relevant experience with some of the following techniques is preferred: qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, cell culture. Experience with the following techniques would be a plus: Western Blots and Gel Electrophoresis, HPLC, UPLC, Dynamic and Static Light Scattering, Hamilton Liquid Handlers, Chemical Fume hood, Empower software. Prior experience with AAV-based gene therapies and statistical analysis principles is a plus.

Salary Range (annually)

$68,000.00 - $106,400.00
