EF Cambridge is looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring UP ADOS to join the academic team in April 2024. We offer opportunities for travelling around the globe and great opportunities for professional development including sponsorship for extending teaching qualifications.  

SUMMARY: 

  • Fixed term, full-time, 5 days per week, 0830-1730 / 0930-1830 
  • DELTA/Trinity Dip (at least DELTA module 2 completed), or enrolled on a Diploma course in TEFL. 
  • At least three years’ teaching experience. 
  • University degree or equivalent 
  • Aware of developments in EFL and have a willingness for self-development 
  • Able to encourage a positive and sharing attitude to both classroom and professional issues 
  • A person teachers would readily go to for advice and support 
  • Highly motivated, proactive and positive 
  • Organized and thorough 
  • Although this is not a management position, the UP ADOS may be responsible for the work of UP teachers or other staff, as assigned 

Specific Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Sales Office communication/email responding with 24 hour rule in mind 
  • Work closely with School Director, DoA and central UP team on student issues, disciplinary matters etc 
  • UP Curriculum – continuous development working with rest of academic team. Giving feedback, suggesting changes, updating course descriptions 
  • UP textbooks – monitoring inventory, communicating with UP teachers, ordering new textbooks for each intake and checking invoices 
  • Scheduling classes for students and teachers 
  • Excel Spreadsheets – continuously updating student university placements along with all test scores (IELTS) where applicable 
  • Student Orientation – responsible for delivering student orientation with School Director and Student Services. Make up orientation folder to include welcome letter, EF lanyard, UP student contract, local information, school information, term goals and course outlines. Administer UPIBT (University Preparation Internet Based Test) test for class placement. 
  • Identify and track Part A (UFYX) students and meet with these students periodically to ensure they are progressing towards all programs’ minimum score requirements 
  • Create and maintain physical and electronic student files in the in house EF system. 
  • Monitor and request with finance student reimbursements for IELTS fees. 
  • Placement testing – correcting UPIBT tests on first day, checking scores, liaising with UP team about borderline cases, probation cases and informing EF sales offices 
  • Liaise with EF sales offices regarding students’ progress 
  • Track, issue and follow up on UP attendance warning letters. Schedule meetings with students to discuss attendance warning issue and formulate action plan for improvement. 
  • Identify any potential UP teacher staffing needs and recruit accordingly liaising with rest of Academic team 
  • UP teacher observations and follow up with any identifiable training needs 
  • Schedule and manage teacher meetings, provide agendas and minutes 
  • College fairs – work with central UP department to coordinate 
  • Partner school individual visits and presentations – work with central UP department to coordinate 
  • Campus tours and partner visits 
  • Student reports – Mid-term and all end of term reports – connect with teachers for feedback, upload in EF system, email EF sales office if necessary 
  • Course certificates at graduation 
  • Counselling students on university options, essays, applications, application workshops 
  • Help students with UCAS entries and be a point of contact for universities related to UCAS applications on behalf of the student 
  • Research websites for college advising and share with UP team 
  • Liaising with HULT International Business School for UP combined program, as applicable 
  • Perform all duties as an EF staff member – adhere to Golden Rules, EF core values and with Customer Service in mind 
  • Additional tasks as needed and assigned
