Job Summary:

Raytheon has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Layout Support Engineer to join our Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) in Andover, MA. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.

As a Layout Support Engineer you will be responsible for creating layouts to the specifications of the engineering team and performing design checks and physical verification on RF Integrated Circuits (RFIC) and Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMIC) using the Cadence Virtuoso Tool Suite. You will also be responsible for preparing designs for photomask order and delivery into Raytheon’s III-V Semiconductor Fab, while constantly communicating with the design and production teams

This role will be 100% on-site and based in Andover, MA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Provide layout support to MMIC/RFIC Design Team.
  • Verification using Design Rule Checking (DRC) and Layout Versus Schematic (LVS).
  • Reticle building and photomask ordering.
  • Data Check, Documentation, and Peer Reviewing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 2 years of prior work experience.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD software tools (e.g., Candence, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (ASEET) or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with integrated circuit layout and physical verification using Cadence Virtuoso software tools.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing and concepts (e.g. technologies like GaAs, GaN, SOI).
  • Detail oriented, ability to follow documented instructions and procedures.
  • Programming skills such as scripting, Skill, Python, etc.
  • Knowledge of the Linux Operating System.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
