Role Overview

The Senior Data Engineer will collaborate with a team of data developers, architects, and other business intelligence experts in developing cutting-edge data-driven solutions for Kasasa's clients and internal customers while embodying the Patch Values. This role involves designing and developing data warehouse solutions, creating ETL processes, building database and data warehousing structures, and facilitating seamless integration between data acquisition, warehousing, analysis, and reporting. 

Responsibilities

  1. Infuse the Patch Values into your work ethic, every day and every interaction. 
  2. Possess at least 5 years of experience in designing and developing data warehouse solutions for business operations. 
  3. Lead the team of data developers and architects in designing and implementing complex data warehouse solutions for business operations. 
  4. Act as a subject matter expert in data integration, data warehousing, and business intelligence, providing guidance and support to team members. 
  5. Drive the development and optimization of ETL processes, ensuring efficient and reliable data acquisition, transformation, and loading. 
  6. Design and implement database and data warehousing structures that support scalable and high-performance data storage and retrieval. 
  7. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into effective data-driven solutions. 
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data engineering and apply them to enhance data solutions. 
  9. Mentor and coach junior data engineers, fostering their growth and development in the field. 
  10. Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing data integration, data warehousing, and business intelligence solutions. 
  11. Proficiency in analyzing, designing, and developing ETL processes. 
  12. Proficiency in both application database and data warehouse development. 
  13. Experience with at least one scripting language (Shell, Python, Perl). 
  14. Strong understanding of Data Warehouse design principles and implementation. 
  15. Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools. 
  16. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  17. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  18. Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline preferred. 
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field. 
  3. Experience in building data solutions for banking and financial systems. 
  4. Familiarity with DM Express, Clover, Pig. 
  5. Experience with AWS, RedShift, and S3. 
  6. Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or similar tools. 
  7. Data profiling and hygiene experience (data scrubbing). 
  8. Familiarity with MDM. 
  9. You will be asked to participate in culture related meetings, activities, and events.
