Summary

Join our healthcare finance team at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System as a Sr Financial Analyst - FP&A. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining computerized Decision Support Systems and performing managerial accounting functions crucial for accurate financial reporting and analysis. Your duties will include transferring data to the Decision Support System, maintaining the EPIC contract modeling system, working with physician WRVU databases, summarizing statistical data, and updating financial dashboards for monthly close meetings and board presentations. Additionally, you will prepare financial analysis and reports utilizing Decision Support Systems, analyze accounts receivable periodically, and assist in various regulatory surveys. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access is required, and involvement in special financial analysis projects is expected.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience

Preferred Requirements:

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field (Masters in Accountancy or MBA) Preferred Experience:
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong preference for healthcare accounting Preferred License/Registration/Certifications:
  • CPA or related certification

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial and statistical analysis
  • Ensure accuracy and timely completion of monthly schedules and analyses
  • Participate in the development of processes to optimize financial software tools
  • Provide support to associates, department directors/managers, and assist during the annual budget process
  • Create pro forma financial analysis reports and explain various financial analysis techniques
  • Actively participate in resolving issues related to report production and distribution
  • Champion financial analysis and decision support reporting tools
  • Participate in other management teams and processes as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and to respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL / COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Must be an advanced Excel user.
