Join us as a Senior Java Developer
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Senior Java Developer to join our Data Transformation Technology team. In this role you will be responsible for design and implementation of business-critical low-code/no-code applications that constitute a business process fabric for many BBH’s business teams. This position requires a skilled individual who understands how to effectively use available technologies to support business users and will follow and refine defined architectural patterns.
Desired Qualifications:
- Core technical skill set includes Java, Spring, Angular, SQL, Hibernate, Kafka
- SQL programming skills with ability to analyze and create complex Oracle queries
- Focus on quality development (unit testing, Continuous Integration, refactoring, clean code)
- Minimum of 3 years in a senior developer position contributing to system design and architecture
- Understanding application deployment procedures.
- Experience in developing REST web services in Java.
- Experience with test and build automation using CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud and container technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Ability to interpret and troubleshoot applications using logs and APM metrics
- Comfortable with working in Scrum/Agile methodologies.
Nice to have:
- Working experience with Angular, CSS and HTML
- In-depth understanding the concepts of databases, popular Web frameworks, Enterprise Integrations concepts (queue, pub-sub, REST API)
- Proven track record in development of distributed systems with Java, Spring & core libraries.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop application code and unit tests
- Design and develop distributed computing systems used by internal and external clients
- Conduct code reviews for other team members and verify standards and practices for the team
- Demonstrate critical thinking and contribute to architecture and design discussions
- Provide technical mentorship to less experienced colleagues
- Identify issues and risks and proactively add to the iterative discussion
- Communicate efficiently within and outside the team
- Work with testers and business users to identify shortcomings in function, scalability, testability, security and resiliency
- Foster automation and support building CI/CD pipelines
