Position Summary

As we continue to expand and drive forward our vision, we are seeking a Sales Manager (f/m/d). In this role, you will plan, initiate and actively drive forward semiconductor Memory and storage sales within the assigned customer base. You will grow our business and market share, as well as secure long-term leadership for the customers by maintaining and expanding our existing business, identifying new opportunities and generating future sales opportunities.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, intensify and expand close relations with the adequate contact points within the customer base
  • Identify, approach and develop new customers in line with the company and SMB/Channel strategies
  • Negotiate prices and volumes with the customers in coordination with product marketing and HQ 
  • Negotiate contracts (eg. LTA, VPA, MPA, NDA) and T’s&C’s with the customers aligned with the Head of SMB/Channel and in cooperation with product marketing and HQ utilizing the valid internal approval process
  • Plan and carry out professional promotion activities in consultation and cooperation with product marketing in line with the SMB/Channel strategies
  • Arrange technical / commercial product presentations for the customers
  • Identify new projects and initiate and follow-up product qualification & design-in
  • Monitor the sales results, report the achievements by product and by customer to the Head of SMB/Channel with updated sales plans and strategies
  • Supervise customer service activities and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Lead the SCM activities for the customer base, maximize the relevant KPIs and engage in improving the global SCM set-up inside DSE
  • Prepare regular reports (i.e. sales status, customer specific trends & issues, meeting minutes), analyze the business status & environment, propose strategies & tactics to maximize the business & ensure long-term success at the existing customer base & for the entire region and discuss these proposals with the Head of SMB/Channel
  • Observe, analyse and report customer and market trends

Skills and Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent in Electronics, Telecommunications or related subject
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in a sales, product marketing or similar function in the semiconductor or IT industry with focus on Semiconductor Memory / Storage
  • Very good knowledge of targeted markets and customers
  • Analytic and strategic thinking covering a long-term horizon
  • Extensive sales thinking and pro-active / consultative sales approach
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Self starter being able to work under minimum supervision
  • Initiative and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Team player
  • Assertive, determined, flexible and creative personality
  • Very good communication and negotiation skills at all levels
  • Persuasive and professional presentation skills
  • System experience of applications of advantage
  • Familiarity to work with state of the art software applications (MS-Office, SAP-GERP)
