Ford is implementing the SAP I-ERP program, which will improve productivity, reduce the size and complexity of Ford's technical footprint, emphasize differentiating capabilities, and transform and standardize its business processes. You will be part of the IERP API and Enhancements foundational product team in the Enterprise Architecture group and this team is responsible for developing customization requirements using ABAP programming and ODATA services.

We are looking for a SAP S4 HANA - ABAP Senior Software Engineer who has experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting SAP solutions and is interested in working with other SAP and SAP-integrated solutions.

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specification documents; Assist in defining and documenting SAP Best Practices.
  • Perform requirements gathering, Business Analysis, Fit Gap Analysis, System Testing, Documentation (FDD and TDD) and End User Training
  • Participate in the analysis of the business operations to validate requirements and scope, suggest process improvements, and assist in effort estimation.
  • Develop, test, debug, implement, maintain, and document ABAP code used in RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms, and Workflows) 
  • Enhancing SAP system using BADIs, User exits, Customer exits, and enhancement framework options.
  • Create Use cases, user stories, and other requirements/specifications artifacts.
  • Provide functional specifications and work with Software Engineers (ABAP, PCF, Fiori) Conducting and supporting testing on the SAP platform.
  • SAP ABAP/4 programming to generate Reports and develop APIs to connect to SAP/Non-SAP using RFC, ALE/IDOCs, and Output Programming using SAP Script, Smart Forms, and Adobe Forms.
  • Integration with Non-SAP systems using Web Services/Proxies/APIs.
  • Work with the product teams and product owners to ensure testing plans are robust and facilitate testing with internal and external interface teams such as Performance Tuning/HANA and Debugging/Defect Management

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience with SAP ABAP programming
  • Minimum 3 full SAP life cycle S/4 implementations experience.
  • Experience with programming in SAP ABAP 7.4 in S4 HANA, UI5/Fiori, ODATA, Java scripting
  • Experienced utilizing ODATA services for ABAP on S4/HANA development
  • Proven track record in making delivery commitments, managing customer expectations, and delivering on commitments.

Our preferred qualifications:

  • Advance Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 2+ years working with SAP I-ERP and/or on Finance and Purchasing (SD/FI/Ariba)
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as well as software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Iterative, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Perform at an extremely high level of technical competence and maturity under pressure.
  • Problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex systems and performance testing and tuning.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced working norm and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others (including key stakeholders within and outside the team both onsite and offshore) and navigate complex decision-making.
  • Effective time management, organizational, planning, and time management skills; ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and global environment to construct quality deliverables from minimal definitions and to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills - able to convey complex blends of business and technical matters to a range of audiences.
