Role / Department

Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) is seeking a senior sales executive Nordics to play a key leadership role in the continued growth and development of Northern Trust Asset Management’s Institutional business in the Nordics, based out of Stockholm. This role will help define, scope and execute our strategic plan for the region embedded into our overall EMEA and Global plans.

This role will play an instrumental role in reviewing, defining and implementing Sales and Relationship Management strategy, assisting with the prioritization of marketing initiatives and continually seeking to understand the market and its changing requirements.

We are looking for a person with a successful track record of developing relationships with Asset Owners and Asset Aggregators, including proven expertise in providing client driven solutions. The person must have outstanding teamwork, language and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Seasoned multi-disciplinary Nordics market expert with extensive investment, client facing, consultant and business experience.
  • Focus of role is building and personally executing a growth strategy to meet predetermined revenue targets.
  • Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
  • Collaborates with international distribution, product and investment teams in seeking to develop capabilities in line with client and market demand.
  • Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
  • Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met
  • Work closely with Global Institutional Client Group management, Head of Sales EMEA specifically, on setting the strategy and executing, seek support from other NTAM executive stakeholders.
  • Providing strategic input to managing the existing clients and help formulate sales strategies to help them grow
  • Collaborate with various teams across Northern Trust, ranging from Marketing to Family Office and Asset Servicing with the one Northern mindset.
  • Promote the company and its products through industry conferences and periodicals as an attendee, speaker, or interviewee.

Skills / Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree, Masters in Business Administration and/or CFA preferred.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in product Sales & Relationship Management experience to Nordics Institutional Asset Owners and financial intermediaries.
  • Strong knowledge in Quantitative Active strategies is a strong value add, next to having relationships in Index and or Alternatives.
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.
  • Ability to roll up their sleeves and evolve with the strategy.
  • Exceptional collaborator and team minded professional.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and/or navigate through complexity and drive innovation.
  • Knowledge of all areas within the global investment management industry, including fixed income, quantitative active and passive equities, ESG and private markets.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills. Able to translate complex and/or technical concepts in an understandable manner to influence others at all levels of various organizations. 
  • Highly organized/structured and able to effectively prioritize multiple demands.
  • Excellent logical and problem-solving skills. Able to easily understand new systems, concepts, data flows, and develop creative solutions where necessary.
