Senior Financial Analyst

The Tech Cost Transformation within TEC Finance is seeking a Senior Associate Financial Analyst to join our growing team. Cost Transformation is our data-driven approach to define and map Enterprise Technology services to the consumers of said services. The team produces data and analysis that is leveraged for management accounting cost allocations, application total cost of ownership analytics, business cases and efficiency analytics. This role skews heavily towards data and analysis but also requires skillful storytelling and deep knowledge of the Technology usage of our LOBs. The ideal candidate is someone who is analytically curious, enjoys deeper financial analytics, is excited about learning technology, and excels in gray space situations. This role requires strong problem solving, teamwork, strategic thinking and influencing skills. 

Specifics of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide financial leadership to client groups
  • Manage the monthly BAU cycle that supports the Cost Transformation process. Requires tracking and validating of input files, balancing and reconciling the output of the tool, and maintaining a suite of AWS QuickSight reports
  • Develop methodologies and processes that provide transparency of costs and cost drivers to recipient businesses
  • Work closely with other financial analysts to develop mapping relationships of cost centers, applications, and technology services to improve the flow of expenses to the correct end user of the services
  • Partner with Tech resources to prioritize development and additional features for our allocations tool
  • Analyze current financial results and address evolving business issues and opportunities
  • Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights
  • Partner with organizational leaders to adjust the Cost Transformation framework as the business environment changes
  • Develop presentations to communicate analysis to senior leadership 
  • Continuously review processes for automation and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting and data analytics for line of business analysts and leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in financial analysis
  • At least 1 year of experience with financial modeling
  • At least 1 year of experience using SQL, Python, or similar scripting language
  • At least 1 year of experience using Tableau, AWS QuickSight, or similar data BI reporting tool

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a quantitative major (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering) or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis
  • At least 2 years of experience with financial modeling
  • At least 2 years of experience in querying and analyzing and working with data languages and platforms (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data environments/PIG,HIVE, Impala)
  • At least 2 years of experience in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, JavaScript, Shell) 
  • Experience working within process management and improvement methodologies – Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
