JOB MISSION:

New Balance’s Global IT Organization is dedicated to delivering products and services that drive business growth, scale and operational efficiency. The Senior IT Product Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology product strategy, providing innovative technology solutions within the Global Value Chain Domain (includes Procurement, Sourcing, Manufacturing and Value Chain Planning product lanes).

This role will define strategy and ensure execution across multiple product teams. You will provide support to product owners helping them expand their knowledge around being effective in a product-centric organization. You should possess a mix of technical strength, business strength, and the ability to navigate stakeholders across different business areas. Building cross-functional relationships will be critical in this role - expect to spend time with your engineering and business peers to ensure objectives are well defined and clearly understood. The Sr. Product Manager must be able to work at the strategic level (e.g. generating innovative ideas for growth, establishing KPI’s, leading through change management) and at the tactical level (e.g. analyzing data, solving problems, being a force multiplier and leader of their teams).

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Partner with business leaders and executives to understand business needs and priorities, ensure the IT team is enabling and driving growth and achieving appropriate service levels.
  • Develop and maintain a vision and corresponding KPI’s that make a compelling case for continued investment. Preparing budgets, allocating resources, and delegating tasks.
  • Own, prioritize, communicate, and evangelize product roadmaps, both within the region and to global IT and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication throughout the development process between internal stakeholders and customers while enabling autonomy and accountability of the teams.
  • Support product owners on key decisions and challenges providing guidance when needed. 
  • Engage the business to identify their needs and spot opportunities to build features that increase engagement and delight.
  • Communicate strategy, priorities and consistent product messaging to stakeholders and users
  • Ensure highest standards of reliability, quality, usability, and measurement are adhered to throughout each phase of product development.
  • Ensure that product directions balance both the user needs and business goals of driving sales, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to release planning by providing technical input on what features can be delivered within given timelines.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with various internal stakeholder groups, including IT, Engineering, and Business 
  • Collaborate with QA teams to define testing criteria and ensure the delivered product meets quality standards.
  • Responsible for vendor relationship by managing contract renewals and ensuring we are getting the expected value. 
  • Know why we are winning and losing in the market, and drive changes to our product and processes to create improvement.

REQUIRMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 7 years product management experience with minimum 2+ years in a product role in a global organization.
  • Preferential consideration given to those with strong expertise in Manufacturing, Procurement, and/or Supply Chain Planning technology, along with a solid understanding of global and regional logistics processes and workflows.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills, with the ability to navigate cross-cultural and cross-functional environments
  • Nimble to deliver for stakeholders: You know how to navigate hurdles and stay focused on great customer experiences working in a lean / agile product development environment.
  • Experience and comfort level with leading multiple product-driven teams and roadmaps
  • Ability to coach and grow direct reports to accelerate product management best practices across the organization
  • A natural decision-maker who inspires the confidence of those they work with. Has the ability to present their case with confidence.
  • Must possess strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies
  • Outcome oriented: You focus on delivering outcomes compared to outputs by leveraging technology to positively impact key business performance metrics.
  • Travel (20%) and collaboration across multiple time zones required.

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced “Work from Anywhere” (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year.
