About the Job

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a fulltime ABP board certified/eligible molecular pathologist. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in teaching and in scholarly productivity. Minimum requirements are an MD or equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota, board certified or board eligible in AP/CP, completion of an ACGME-accredited pathology residency training and a molecular genetics pathology fellowship program. 

This position will include molecular pathology work in the molecular diagnostics laboratory (including next generation sequencing oncology triage, testing, and interpretation). Clinical responsibilities, on-call duties and conferences are shared with other members of the molecular pathology faculty. Opportunities for clinical work in cytogenetics are available for interested candidates. 

Candidates will participate in medical student, resident and fellow education, and are encouraged to pursue a research program that will lead to a national/international reputation of excellence. Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate’s area of specialty/research expertise. Preferred candidates will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents, fellows and faculty.
