Job Summary

Acts as a primary assistant to the Associate Dean of Financial Aid and Financial Aid Director. Primary contact for enrollment as it relates to processing and awarding federal and state aid programs. Also, primary contact for financial aid with the prison education program (pending program approval).

Job Duties:

Manage Financial Aid enrollment requirements to include but not limited to confirming attendance, "No Show" re-packaging, NSLDS transfer monitoring and Prison Education Program, pending program approval. Work with KCTCS Systems to resolve Return to Title IV

Performs financial aid verification, disbursement, authorization, directs loan processing, counseling, and reporting requirements. Resolve individual student issues and conflicts from the KCTCS Student Service Center and/or Starfish. Use individual discretion to implement resolution.

Manage aid disbursement for late start classes and review NSLDS transfer monitoring.

Use professional knowledge to determine eligibility for dependency overrides, EFC and budget recalculations, and Unusual Enrollment History Appeals.

Conduct financial aid / scholarship presentations at workshops, orientation, high school workshops, and other community organizations/events.

Attending Professional Development and Financial Aid conferences and training. Serve on college committees. Active participation in state financial aid association.

Other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Student Success and Associate Dean of Financial Aid.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (related field), and one to two years related experience, or equivalent.
