The VP of Manufacturing and Operations will report to the CEO and will be responsible for leading the operational planning, processes and outcomes to meet strategic and annual goals through leadership of the supply chain, manufacturing, and shipping organizations.

Requirements for the VP of Manufacturing and Operations:

  • Extensive prior experience in operations and manufacturing leadership of single or multiple locations with direct responsibility for financial results. 
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in manufacturing, business, or a related field. 
  • Demonstrates a high degree of technical, financial, and operational experience in building a highly successful operation. 
  • Understands new issues quickly, seeks information and buy-in, works well under pressure, provides effective delegation, and makes sound decisions. 
  • Strong manager of people providing guidance, feedback, and coaching motivating their continuous development and improvement. 
  • Ability to use database or enterprise application integration software and enterprise resource planning software 

Responsibilities of the VP Of Manufacturing and Operations:

  • Participates in company’s senior leadership team in overall strategic planning, meeting annual goals, building company culture, and developing a scalable company. 
  • Leads development and implementation of a comprehensive operations strategy to develop and meet the company’s long-term and annual business goals and objectives. 
  • Oversees development and execution for optimal capacity/production, maximum efficiency, continuous cost reductions, high quality, ongoing safety, and on-time delivery with both internal and external partners. 
  • Ensures a culture of continuous improvement of quality, cost and delivery resulting in outstanding results and satisfaction. 
  • Provides direct leadership and management to the shipping manager, manufacturing manager, quality/manufacturing engineer and supply chain manager. 
  • Ensures that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice, supports professional development, provides ongoing feedback, and continuous improvement through lean principles. 
  • Identifies and takes action to mitigate risks in across operations that could negatively impact the quality or output of the company. 
  • Collaborates closely with Product Development on development and introduction of new products and Sales on forecasting and meeting customer needs. 
  • Ensures the production facilities are maintained at a high standard of cleanliness and organization, equipment maintenance and calibrations are performed, and required documentation is completed in a timely manner. 
  • Establishes and maintains strict quality control measures, meeting industry and customer standards and a safe working environment by adhering to regulations and standards. 
  • Participates in operating budget planning process.
