Global Marketing is committed to maximising corporate reputation, client reach and engagement, underpinned by a strong commercial orientation. Responsibility extends to developing the business across 80 markets spanning, Institutional, Wholesale and Retail channels.

DACH Distribution and Marketing target Institutional and Wholesale channels (Germany and Switzerland considered as a priority by the Group).

About The Role

The role-holder will have the ability to execute across the full marketing spectrum, with an ultimate requirement to demonstrate the creation of business value. The role holder will support the Senior Marketing Manager - DACH.

In addition to providing support for the whole region, the role holder will be responsible for planning and implementing marketing activities with a focus on Switzerland until a marketing employee is hired in Switzerland. Once a new Marketing employee has been hired and trained in Switzerland, the responsibility of the role holder will shift to Germany and Austria.

Role Responsibilities (as indicated above, the below will focus on Switzerland until a new marketing employee is hired in Switzerland and there after all the below will focus on Germany/ Austria):

Support the Senior Marketing Manager – DACH in developing DACH/Switzerland Marketing Strategy and build the operating model to deliver including:

  • Influencing and managing the on-going relationship with the Head of Distribution – Switzerland and the Distribution team members
  • Developing and articulating marketing strategies for existing and future channels
  • Building marketing plans to address market, channel and client segment opportunities

Lead annual planning activity for Switzerland with the support of the Senior Marketing Manager – DACH, leveraging resource to best effect:

  • Oversee detailed bottom up market resource and campaign planning
  • Monitor progress against plan and budgets, flexing priorities accordingly, and report on the activity on a monthly basis
  • Manage local marketing budget and committed spend

Support and inform the delivery of Global brand and thematic campaigns within the DACH market with responsibility for Switzerland :

  • Adapt and roll out centralised campaigns: campaign design & structure for the markets
  • Adopt global standards and processes and embed best practice across the markets
  • Develop and deliver commercially focused marketing campaigns and contact strategies
  • Establish defined contact strategies to maximise reach and engagement with content
  • Ensure suite of investment content available through local generation & global leverage
  • Engage internal centres of excellence to maximise campaign design
  • Liaise with the markets Distribution team to ensure follow through
  • Design campaigns utilising the full communications mix – PR, Advertising, Events, Digital etc.
  • Maximise Distribution adoption of content and campaigns ensuring follow up to capitalise on opportunities

Event strategy and management:

  • Develop an event strategy for Switzerland (both proprietary and sponsored Third party) aligned to product priorities (promotion & retention), along with Distribution
  • Oversee operational side of events, with the support of the central events team for sponsored and flagship events

Digital Marketing:

  • Digital Marketing Strategy roll out, with the support of the central Digital Marketing team
  • Work on all aspects of digital, keeping a keen eye on best practice and innovation
  • Plan campaigns based on data-driven decision making for appropriate media mix
  • Develop direct email strategy in conjunction with the central Digital team to ensure appropriate level of communications with our clients and prospects
  • Define and support implementation of social media and always-on marketing strategy across DACH utilising paid search, social, content/native, display and email marketing media as part of a multi-channel approach
  • Collaborate with the central Search & Social Media experts on Paid Search (PPC) strategy as well as support on Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) roll out across websites
  • Fully digest digital activity dashboards to ensure all digital activity is appropriate and where applicable, work closely with specialists to identify optimisations for future activity
  • Own local channel website content and in the future plan and execute website updates in line with broader marketing communications strategy and to improve User Experience and engagement with our content

About the candidate requirements 

To be successful in this role you will need (minimum experience/ requirements) 

  • Highly motivated, flexible, great attention to details, personal initiative and ability of carrying out projects in autonomy are a must with a proven B2B track record
  • An excellent communicator; You will be fluent in German, you will also have excellent written and spoken English (French would be advantageous)
  • Knowledge of the Swiss market (wholesale & institutional, media, events) would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with client investment decision making processes across channels
  • Familiarity with an investment / financial services product range
  • Proven experience of delivering multi-media brand and capability campaigns across channels
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and excellent at establishing and building good working partnerships
  • Good knowledge and proven expertise in event management
  • Good knowledge and proven expertise of digital and social media world (LinkedIn, XING,Twitter)
