General Summary:

The Technician position will work in the business unit or corporate technology group. The Technician will complete compounding and molding testing on specific assigned projects and have a high degree of proficiency with materials processing on equipment such as Master Brabenders, Single Screw, Twin Screw and Injection Molding equipment.

Essential duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with a professional technical staff in projects related to product development, process development or application development depending on the work area of the job.
  • Laboratory work involving new experiments and sample preparation.
  • Processes material using Master Brabenders, Single-Screw, Twin-Screw, Injection Molding Machines and testing equipment.
  • Accurately measures, records and reports of data.
  • Follow safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects tools or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally required to sit. The individual must frequently lift and/or move 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and the ability to differentiate color. Work Environment: The characteristics listed below are representative of the work environment typically encountered by an individual while performing the essential duties of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc. Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The individual is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
