The qualified candidate will have proven experience developing technical projects using SQL Server and C# along with a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle.

CorVel Corporation is hiring an EDI Software Engineer to develop best practice solutions that support the movement of data to and from multiple business systems. You will be involved with overseeing all aspects of the development for assigned projects, from gathering and refining requirements all the way through deployment. This position is a mix of developing and working with other team members on development of solutions, with an emphasis on best practices and forward-thinking solutions. 

This will initially be a temporary assignment, with the intention to turn into a direct-hire upon meeting performance and business needs. Opportunity to work from home.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the project owners and project requestors and users to refine requirements.
  • Apply sound software engineering processes, including iterative development, unit testing, source code control, and peer reviews.
  • Learn our business model and understand existing enterprise applications.
  • Participate in regular meetings with development teams.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • 7+ years developing software, using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • 3+ years of C# experience using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience developing Microsoft SQL Server Stored Procedures.
  • Experience with Source Control (TFVC, Git, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
  • Good spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional preferred skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to design a normalized SQL Server database.
  • Familiarity with build/release processes and continuous integration.
  • Experience with Dependency Injection and IoC Containers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, including SQL Azure databases.
  • Previous EDI and/or Healthcare experience

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $88,466 – $137,069
