The AWS SDKs and Tools team at Amazon.com is looking for passionate and customer obsessed Developer Support Engineers to join our Open Source Developer Support team, focusing on helping AWS customers resolve development questions over GitHub.

Amazon has built a reputation for excellence with recent examples of being named #1 in customer service, #1 most trusted, and #2 most innovative. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is carrying on that tradition while leading the world in Cloud technologies. As a member of the AWS Open Source Support team, you will be at the forefront of this transformational technology, assisting developers around the world that are taking advantage of a growing set of AWS services and features to build their mission-critical applications.

We are looking for developer support engineers that enjoy solving problems, working with customers, and have excellent programming skills in one or more modern programming languages. Our support engineers work with AWS customers on GitHub and other developer community sites to help them build on AWS. We are the “voice of the developer” inside AWS and have a strong voice into AWS product teams for recurring issues or feature requests.

A successful candidate will be someone with solid coding skills who is customer focused, and who can multi-task and utilize both written & verbal communication skills to help our diverse range of customers resolve their technical issues. This is a customer support role and you will be directly working with AWS customers of all sizes on a daily basis.

Our AWS Platform team, of which you would be a part, is the glue that holds the AWS ecosystem together. Whether its identity features such as access management and sign on, cryptography, console, builder & developer tools, and even projects like automating all of our contractual billing systems, AWS Platform is always innovating with the customer in mind.

Mentorship

We have a formal mentor search application that lets you find a mentor that works best for you based on location, job family, job level etc. Your manager can also help you find a mentor or two, because two is better than one. In addition to formal mentors, we work and train together so that we are always learning from one another, and we celebrate and support the career progression of our team members. The Open Source Developer Support team has a proven track record of internal development and career advancement.

Inclusion

Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon’s culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.
