What does a Senior DevOps Engineer do at Hogarth?

Hogarth is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to assist with managing technical, production and project management collaboration platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and administer the development and operations of an advanced digital platform where a mix of cloud services are supporting the continuous integration pipeline powering the delivery of projects Hogarth’s Fortune 500 clients. If you love automation, performance and working with industry leading tools and engineering practices, this could be the role for you.

Reporting lines and key stakeholders

This role reports to the Global DevOps Lead, part of the Global Product & Engineering team. You will work closely with Product & Engineering teams as well as Digital Production teams.

Experience Required

  • Architecting and building infrastructure using IaC (Terraform / CloudFormation / ARM Templates)
  • Providing solutions to the requirements of a fast-paced team
  • Monitor the systems daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests in a timely manner
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
  • Ability to help develop and implement robust policies for the administration of user rights and privileges
  • Dedication to developing and maintaining detailed documentation
  • Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
  • Intermediate understanding of governance goals and practices
  • Experience working in geographically distributed teams
  • Advanced Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure architecture
  • Advanced networking
  • Advanced Infrastructure as code (Terraform / CloudFormation / ARM Templates)
  • Intermediate Source control understanding
  • Intermediate Configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Salt, Chef)
  • Intermediate Linux and windows system administration
  • Intermediate Apache/Nginx/IIS webservers
  • Intermediate Database management (MySQL, Postgres)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP
  • Intermediate Knowledge of CI/CD (Jenkins automation)
  • Intermediate JIRA system administration, creating/modifying workflows, screens etc

Good to have

  • Experience administering Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and Gitlab platforms
  • Gitlab / Github administration
  • CI / CD using Jenkins and Github Actions
  • Knowledge of ELK or Splunk or any other type of log aggregation/analysis
  • Monitoring solutions like Nagios, Zabbix etc
  • Administration of any of these MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB
  • Docker / Kubernetes
  • Worked in an agile environment
  • PHP and .NET application deployments
