Securitas is a Living-Learning Community (LLC) with an cybersecurity-focused residential experience. At an intersection of people, process, and technology, cybersecurity is a topic that offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and professional development. Securitas’ mission is to equip Virginia Tech students to build, innovate, and safeguard cyberspaces of the future. Securitas’ vision is to champion a purpose-driven vision of the cybersecurity field. The program will be known for its creative, curious, and civic-minded cohorts.
While the Academic Coordinator is primarily responsible for learning and curricular components (teaching the LLC course with required co-curricular events), the Program Coordinator is responsible for the living and community-building components of the LLC. The Securitas Program Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the Pamplin College of Business and works closely with the Securitas Academic Coordinator and Office of Living-Learning Programs (OLLP) in Student Affairs. The Securitas Program Coordinator also consults with the Director of the CCI SWVA and the Securitas Advisory Board, including the Academic Director of the ISERC Center, the Academic Director of the Hume Center, and the Business Information Technology Department Head.
