Job Description

Impact is a Living-Learning Community (LLC) with an analytics-focused residential experience. Students interested in data analytics in both business and sciences with live and learn together in the LLC community and courses. While the Academic Coordinator is primarily responsible for learning and curricular components (teaching the LLC course with required co-curricular events), the Program Coordinator is responsible for the living and community-building components of the LLC. The Impact Program Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the Pamplin College of Business and works closely with the Impact Academic Coordinator and Office of Living-Learning Programs (OLLP) in Student Affairs. The Impact Program Coordinator also consults with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the College of Science and the Impact Advisory Board, including the Academic Director of the Center for Business Analytics in Pamplin, the Business Information Technology Department Head, and the Computational Management and Data Analytics Department Head.

The Impact Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for:

  • Serving as the daily point of contact, communication coordinator, and ambassador for the Impact LLC.
  • Working with Student Affairs on Impact LLC recruitment and enrollment, program orientation, extra-curricular event planning and budget management, student leadership and mentorship programs.
  • Coordinating with other LLCs to identify joint events related to relevant topics or the potential for corporate guest events and promote analytics and the LLC’s analytics programs.
  • Collaborating with the Academic Coordinator to plan events related to the LLC course content; this is expected to be more frequent while the LLC course is in session.
  • Completing required trainings on student support (Title IX and FERPA) as well as necessary fiscal trainings to support their administrative functions.
  • Providing monthly reports to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs in Pamplin on Impact LLC event participation, updated budget, and overall program performance.
  • Participating in the semesterly leadership meetings, sharing program reports and reflections with members of the Impact Advisory Board.
  • Working with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs in Pamplin and the Impact Advisory Board to develop industry partnerships for sponsorships, scholarships and leadership opportunities for the Impact LLC students.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
  • Experience with event planning, budgeting, and management;
  • Experience working with diverse populations;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to run projects simultaneously with a high degree of creativity and initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree;
  • Experience or interest in higher education administration, student affairs, or related field;
  • Experience in design, development, implementation and assessment of student programming;
  • Experience facilitating trainings, meetings, and curriculum for leaders;
  • Experience with Housing & Residence Life;
  • Experience with analytics in business or science fields;
  • Desire to take initiative in program design and leadership;
  • Desire to learn how to lead in a responsible way, in line with VT’s Principles of Community and Ut Prosim.
