DCEO Cluster Manager is one of our most senior management roles in Taiwan. In this role, you will be solely responsible for maintaining 100% service uptime of the cluster. We are looking for a proven Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Cluster Manager with experience in people management, and a result-driven individual with strong technical understanding and the drive and vision to take our data center engineering operations to the next level. The successful candidate will have experience managing people and managers, creating, tracking and controlling budgets, devising strategies, mentoring people in all levels, sponsoring projects and proposing technical solutions. The role will be responsible for strategic and tactical issues in Data Center Engineering Operations such as ensuring and sustaining availability, cost management, risk assessment and mitigation, review corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure and metric reporting.

The successful candidate will be operationally responsible for multiple data centers. Some high-level responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor the team of Data Center Engineering Operation engineers; this includes all aspect of people/performance/career/technical management
  • Manage Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) within Amazon Data Centers or Amazon leased Data Center areas within third party Colocation facilities; including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure and metric reporting
  • Be responsible for the operation of and management of both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc
  • Manage Large Scale Events or outages, manage on-call rotation and escalations, and consistently stay on top of practices via frequent effective drills
  • Liaise with global and APAC teams on initiatives as well as process and procedures; implement these initiatives effectively in Taiwan
  • Play a key part in innovation and driving automation, continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
  • Ensure the data center is compliant with all relevant security & safety policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in capacity planning of datacenters in all aspect including power provisioning, rack intakes and decommission, expansion at regional and cross-country levels
  • Vendor-manage colocation data center services providers to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA’s.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or relevant discipline, with preference in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of Data Center Facilities such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, electrical sub distribution systems, fire detection and suppression systems, cable reticulation systems
  • Strong bi-lingual verbal and written communication skills (English and Chinese).
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills
  • Deep attention to detail & accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deliver colo facility expansion projects on time and within budget
  • Experienced in managing high growth operation team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of direct data center engineering work experience, 8+ years in people management capacity
  • In depth knowledge of Data Center capacity planning and reporting
  • Mission Critical facility management experience for a large enterprise or large Colocation provider
  • Knowledge in IT services such as servers, network, cabling and platform
  • Knowledge in datacenter safety and physical security
