The Office of Testing and Evaluation Services (OTES) supports the LSU campus by providing computer-based testing in the LSU Testing Center for LSU academic course exams, course placement, and national, state, and local tests. Other services such as instructor course evaluations, test and survey development, and scoring are also provided.
The OTES has approximately 450 computer stations in four testing center locations in Himes Hall. The Testing Center typically impacts 20,000+ students and over 200,000+ tests per year (3 semesters). Job Overview:
Our test proctors will observe all exams to ensure that all who take a test in the Testing Center receives equitable treatment, that all testing procedures are followed and that all test-takers have the same opportunity to excel on the test
Proctors are responsible for maintaining the testing rooms, checking in and verifying student’s identification, ensuring students complete all work independently and ensuring only approved materials are used during the exam, and that all materials are returned at the completion of the exam. Test proctors are essential to maintaining the integrity of our organization and of the tests our faculty have provided to the Testing Center to administer. Proctors must maintain a high level of professionalism and present the organization in the best possible light.

One year experience proctoring exams or familiarity with common exam practices and procedures
Special Qualifications:
As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.
This position and/or position’s responsibilities require work directly with minors. National Sex Offender Registry check required.
The location of this position is LSU-BR and is not eligible for remote work.
