The Opportunity:

The Web Applications Developer will support the Office of Research and NanoScience Technology Center with its web development and design needs, including, but not limited to, maintaining and updating the Office of Research and Nano website, researcher requests for grant-related websites, and the Faculty Cluster Initiative website.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with UCF departments to understand requirements and preferences for website functionality, specifications, and appearance.
  • Plan, design, develop, document, test, and maintain websites to meet the specified criteria.
  • Utilize Photoshop, InDesign, and design experience to create visually appealing and user-friendly web interfaces.
  • Knowledge of WordPress and Static websites, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript languages.
  • Write and edit content for the web if needed, ensuring consistency, clarity, and adherence to best practices.
  • Design mockups to visualize and communicate proposed website layouts and features.
  • Oversee all aspects of primary web properties, including code, content, accessibility, usability, data, structure, and graphics.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Photoshop – Basic skills highly preferred.
  • WordPress – Experience with development, templates, and plugins.
  • Google Analytics experience is a plus.
