The Supervisor will assist the Manager of Entertainment Experience (MEE) in managing the shipboard Fun Squad, ensuring team members are trained to provide a fun experience for guests. They will collaborate with other managers to optimize experiences for Bingo and the Punchliner Comedy Club. Responsibilities include overseeing training programs, managing recruitment and promotion processes, analyzing satisfaction data, and supporting recruitment and onboarding efforts. Additionally, they will maintain training materials, manage record-keeping, and standardize the impact of Fleet Fun Squad Trainers.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop training strategy for the shipboard fun squad to enhance guest satisfaction and boost NPS. Maintain Fun Squad Training College curriculum, oversee the Fun Squad Tiers program, and manage the interview process and promotion of Experience Coordinators. Collaborate with Entertainment leaders to prepare future Entertainment Directors and Cruise Directors.
  • Oversee Fleet Fun Squad Trainers, ensuring they support shipboard teams with training, presentations, ship reports, and database maintenance. Evaluate the effectiveness of their ship visits and analyze training outcomes. Ensure fun squad hosts adhere to policy and propose operational improvements to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue.
  • Collaborate with Entertainment Managers to support shipboard Bingo and Comedy Programs. Assist shipboard teams in assigning suitable members to Comedy and Bingo roles and organize training sessions for these roles.
  • Partner with the Entertainment Casting & Booking team to support Fun Squad recruitment and onboarding. Maintain documents such as Fun Squad Look Book and shipboard Welcome Packs to ensure team member preparedness and a smooth transition to working shipboard. 
  • Provide administrative support to MEEs as needed for shipboard Entertainment team member travel, training, operational, and new hire onboarding tasks. Assist MEE in conducting ship audit visits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Entertainment, Hospitality, Learning & Development
  • 5+ years of experience in the entertainment industry. Experience developing training team members. 
  • Experience in public speaking or performance is a plus.
  • Cruise Line experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Organization skills: ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of Carnival's entertainment program and operations. 
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time.

Travel: 25-50% of ship-based travel.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

The range for this role’s base salary is $68,000 - $51,600. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

  • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
