The development center of SAP in Bulgaria plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. With its more than 1400 professionals, SAP Labs Bulgaria also has strong contributions toward life-cycle management, user interface & user experience across the broader portfolio of SAP products and has recently welcomed new teams focusing on business applications. What you’ll do

• Take the lead or contribute to research and proof of concept activities and demonstrate a track record of successful implementation and maintenance of best practices in real-world scenarios.
• Be responsible for infrastructure bootstrapping topics in the Cloud Foundry environment (BOSH and K8s-based) for the Business Technology Platform
• Responsible for creating, maintaining, and effectively communicating vision for technical evolution of components in scope
• Deliver high-quality technical/technology recommendations, proposals, and documentation
• Implement enhancements in the already existing infrastructure components (proprietary, load balancers, routing services, jump hosts, etc.) with focus on availability, reliability, scalability, and security
• Quickly and efficiently troubleshoot, resolve, and prevent future infrastructure components incidents from occurring
• Work with and manage specifics in the offerings and services of different IaaS providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba) or open-source alternatives like OpenStack
• Influence to improve end-to-end development, testing, and operational excellence practices, and streamline processes in order to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Efficiently and effectively collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders (internal & external)
• Contribute with tasks, ideas, and estimates to the planning process
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality of deliveries
• Provide technical training within teams to enable continuous knowledge growth and share expertise

What you bring 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree. Alternatively, a high school diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related subject
• Strong understanding and experience with cloud providers concepts, organizational model, operational excellence, best practices, PaaS, and SaaS architecture
• Experience with and appreciation for the benefits of software engineering practices and design such as coding standards, agile (scrum) methodologies, and test-driven development
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• 2+ years of coding in at least two of the following – shell scripting (bash), Python, Ruby, Go
• Extensive experience with git source control management, build and delivery infrastructure
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP protocols, DNS, OSI model, routing, load balancing, CDN, etc.)
• CI/CD best practices, automation environments, IaC (Infrastructure as Code) concepts and tools knowledge like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Vault, etc. (knowledge and experience with Concourse is a plus)
• 5+ years of experience working with Linux/Unix-based systems
• Monitoring and logging with Grafana, Elastic stack or equivalent
• Able to quickly research new concepts or technologies and effectively put them in practice
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, organizational, interpersonal, and programming skills
• Team player passionate about own’s work and impact, self-starter who contributes to a positive atmosphere in the team
• Looking for opportunities when faced with changes in environment and/or technologies
• Responsible, respectful, and open-minded
