Job Description

Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Shipper for our facility located in Plymouth, Michigan. Reporting to the Plant Manager and Shipping Foreman. The shipper is responsible for the proper loading of trucks with bundles of steel tubing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans for the safe loading of material for outbound shipments
• Utilizes FIFO method when moving bundles
• Scans all bundles moved in the warehouse
• Removal of flash/scarf from bundles as needed
• Reworking of bundles as needed
• Perform daily crane/hi-lo inspections and report any deficiencies
• Operate overhead crane and hi-lo as required
• Report any irregularities or malfunctions to managers and/or maintenance
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Overhead Crane License preferred
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
• Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

• Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
• Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
• Must be able to lift 60lbs.
• Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours
• Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment
• Other physical requirements as needed for job
