Job Description

Note: This position can be based in Newbury Park, CA or Irvine, CA

Job Responsibilities:

The principal financial analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, developing tools, reports, financial models, and analysis to support our manufacturing operations. The position will support budgeting & forecasting initiatives and monthly close process; provide operation expense variance analysis; and monitor operational KPIs or financial objectives. The job also manages capex, headcounts, overhead expenses, cost pools, allocations, and other efficiency or profit improvement projects. 

  • Responsible for annual budget, long-range financial strategic planning, and ongoing periodical financial forecasting for our operations of manufacturing, R&D and facilities.
  • Engages with operation team to prepare reports, KPIs and analysis to track and augment operation efficiency, as well as financial performance of the entity.
  • Calculates product’s production cost, cost components, yields, standard activity rates, production variances, absorptions, manufacturing and facilities allocations…
  • Investigates and analyzes operation expenses to explain variances between actual and forecast, ensure forecast accuracy and competency.
  • Constructs financial models to provide financial projections to support decision making of business initiatives and capital spendings.
  • Collaborates with operations to establish product cost reduction objectives, monitor, analyze and validate saving results vs. objectives.
  • Analyzes manufacturing variances and production activities to provide insights into the operation performance, identify risks and opportunities to mitigate risks and optimize costs.
  • Support monthly close process and add-hoc projects as needed.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other related areas; MBA preferred.

6+ years of experience in corporate finance with financial modeling, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting is required.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills within finance and accounting team, as well as other operations and business functions.

Proficiency in business analysis and Excel modeling, preferable with accounting and financial software such as Hyperion/Oracle EPBCS and SAP planning.

Experience in a manufacturing and/or semiconductor environment is a plus.

Flexibility of schedule at critical times to meet deadline and accomplish key deliverables.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the working hours.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $87,600 - $167,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
