Job Summary:

This position is a full-time 9-month non-tenure track position beginning in the Fall 2024 semester. This position will start at the Assistant or Associate level depending on the candidate's qualifications. Interviews will start on/around March 1, 2024.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching courses such as:

  • Animal Husbandry
  • Intro to Animal Science lecture and lab
  • Production courses such as:
  • Beef Science and Swine Science
  • Livestock judging
  • Other courses depending on the successful candidate’s expertise and departmental needs. 

In addition to teaching, responsibilities include:

  • Student advising
  • Developing contacts within the industry
  • Participation in curriculum development
  • Remaining current in the field
  • Holding regular office hours
  • Service on faculty committees as assigned or elected
  • Participation in professional development activities
  • Attending regularly scheduled faculty, department and other required meetings
  • Assisting with departmental needs
  • Participation in outcomes assessments. 

Required Education and Experience:

  • M.S. degree, Ph.D. in Animal Science or D.V.M. with relevant experience preferred
  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring and ongoing educational development and scholarship
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
