Redwood Credit Union is looking for a Vice President of Innovation & Development to lead the operations of Programming, Data and Business Solutions teams. This position plays a key role in leading the strategic development and management of digital channels, back-office applications, business intelligence and business analyst needs. This includes online banking, mobile banking, enterprise applications integrations, and data infrastructure development to support business intelligence.

Essential Functions

Digital Solutions Management

  • Effectively manage teams responsible for online banking, mobile banking, data, business intelligence and enterprise applications.
  • Execute RCU’s Digital Experience strategies for technology-driven digital channels, self-service channels and back-office applications and data needs.
  • Collaborate on and lead strategies with internal stakeholders such as RCUSG, Lending, Payments Marketing, Branch Operations, and the Senior Leadership team.
  • Evaluate and analyze new and existing digital and data platform functionality to better serve the Credit Union’s needs.
  • Manage vendor relationships and budget to ensure service, efficiency, value, and brand standards are being met.
  • Serve as a technical resource for RCU strategies in defining technical requirements for digital solutions.
  • Act as incident manager, incident commander, or SME during incidents and impacting events.
  • Recruit, hire, conduct performance appraisals, coach, and recommend salary adjustments for management staff.

Project Management

  • Partner with Project Management to ensure development projects and strategies are executed properly and within budgetary guidelines.
  • Originate and write functional specifications, provide input to project plans and business requirement documents.
  • Schedule, plan and implement projects while upholding Credit Union uptime and performance standards.
  • Schedule, plan and lead complex IT project conversions and cutovers upholding Credit Union uptime standards.

Performance Management

  • Develop and review quality assurance standards to ensure programming standards throughout the organization.
  • Provide analysis (e.g. trends, key metrics) and project status to the leadership team and business owners.
  • Supervise the digital solutions management staff, including expectations, support, training, and accountability.

Technology Analysis & Security

  • Provide programming, data and system analysis support and direction.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for complex issues relating to the digital channels including online, mobile, back office, and data applications.
  • Supply technical support to both internal team members and external Members for resolution of complex issues relating to digital services.
  • Stay abreast of developments in digital channel service, delivery, regulatory requirements, and best practices for online, mobile and data security.
  • Assist in responding to security attacks such as phishing, DDOS and hacking attempts of RCU services and Members.
  • Champion, implement and ensure strong, effective security measures for the digital platforms and channels that align to standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging threats.

Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern managerial principles, practices, and techniques. This includes thorough knowledge and ability to develop and manage budgets, projects, plans, goals, and monitoring techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of web application technology, mobile application technology, hardware, and software in relation to financial institution applications.
  • Deep understanding of network design, Internet security, and best practices within the financial services industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methods and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Episys platform and ancillary system structure.
  • Proficiency in website and app design and JavaScript development. React experience a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and database management, ETL management, and data warehousing.
  • Ability to effectively drive multiple teams with tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to supervise and coach management staff.
  • Strong service focus with demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with internal and external stakeholders as well as Members.
  • Ability to work weekends and late nights when needed.

The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of twelve years’ experience in managing Application Development or Information Technology departments, and at least six years of Programming Management.

Compensation: Base starting range: $165,000 to $217,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
