Located in Warsaw, Poland, and reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) supporting the Development organization, this position will be a critical member of the Finance team as we support a growing organization and development pipeline. This pivotal role will primarily focus on enhancing our data and analytics infrastructure to improve processes across month-end close processes, internal management reporting, variance analyses, and external reporting initiatives.

Here's What You’ll Do:

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Performance Management: Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Analyze variances and communicate findings to senior management with recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics to identify trends, forecast performance, and provide actionable insights. Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making processes.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting updates, ensuring alignment with the financial plans.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with business partners and headquarters FP&A team to ensure cohesive financial planning.
  • Compliance and Control: Ensure compliance with US GAAP financial regulations. Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and analysis.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Global Remit: Acting as a key finance team member with a global remit, supporting the clinical development organization. Your work will influence financial strategies and operations on a worldwide scale, reflecting the global impact of Moderna's mission.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Expertise in data analytics and financial modeling, with proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP financial principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial planning software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to Cambridge, US headquarters as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferable but not required.
  • Previous experience in biotech/pharma is desirable but not required.
